Sex Offender Convicted Of Abusing Girl, 11, Reports Move In Poughkeepsie

A registered "lifetime" sexual offender convicted on four counts of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl has reported an address change in Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 63-year-old Albert Cline, who has reported an address change to a residence on Main Street in Poughkeepsie..

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Cline a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated for lifetime registration, though he is subject to petition for relief.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Cline had sexual contact with his 11-year-old victim in April 1997, when he was arrested by the Poughkeepsie City Police Department. Cline was convicted of four counts of first-degree sexual abuse in November that same year and sentenced to five years probation and an unspecified amount of time in jail. Cline remains under the jurisdiction of police in Poughkeepsie.
